Kanye West has inked a sponsorship deal with Absolut 100 Vodka for his upcoming tour, which begins April 16 in Seattle. In conjunction with Absolut’s “In an Absolut World” marketing campaign, the trek has been christened “The Glow in the Dark Tour Ignited by Absolut 100.”

“This is a brand that has worked with the pre-eminent artists of the 20th century—Tom Ford, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Helmut Newton,” West says in a statement. “These are individuals who have inspired me in my work, and I feel honored to be a part of this legacy.”

It's funny how rappers talk about the government putting liquor stores in the hood to keep black people sedated, but then they accept sponsorships from Vodka companies.

Integrity don't mean shit, son! You gotta get that paper! Buy Absolut! WORD!

I love Kanye's music, but this is typical of people in hip hop. When you flash a dollar in front of their eyes, they forget about everything they ever said into a mic.

Indie rock bands have a lot more integrity...those guys CAN'T be bought out.

You guys are Absolut-ely right (pun intended). I was thinking of indie bands from my era...Fugazi and such.

Sorry.

#6 Steven Patrick Morrissey says:

yeah, fugazi gets high marks for their staying true to the cause but unfortunately those days are long over now when indie bands have little revenue streams remaining via the conventional routes.
