At 12, Willow Smith is already the coolest, most interesting member of the Pinkett-Smith clan by some margin. She’s like a fun-sized Solange Knowles. On her latest song, “Sugar and Spice,” Willow ditches the manic happiness and gets really, really dark and moody, sampling Radiohead’s “Codex.” Via NME:
Famed for her viral hit 'Whip My Hair’, Smith is in a more melancholic and reflective place on 'Sugar and Spice’ which features the lyrics: “Inject my soul with darkness. I tried to be sugar and spice, but I’m melancholy and can’t do anything right. Take a swing at me, I’ll fight to the death, my light is bright.”
We’re thoroughly impressed. Now if only she could get her brother to stop borrowing her pants.
