A few weeks ago, just before she was arrested in Texas, Fiona Apple lashed out at her label, Epic Records for “pulling support for her album” as a response to her placing a song on a soundtrack. It looks as if the soundtrack in question is for This is 40, the new movie from Judd Apatow. Via Pitchfork:
So does this mean that her label, Epic Records, didn’t want “Dull Tool”, the song she wrote for Apatow’s film This Is 40, to be commercially released? Yesterday, it was confirmed that the song will appear in the film but will not be released separately, but it was not specified why. A request for comment has not been returned as of yet.
