An online stampede of ticket buyers crashed the Coachella ticketing site when weekend passes went on sale this morning. In spite of this, tickets for the first weekend still sold out. Via Spin:
At press time, the April 19 weekend appears to have old out, too, barring the $2,000 to $5,200 VIP Lake Eldorado camping packages, according to the festival’s ticketing page.
“Oh there are SO many people buying. Hang tight, try again in a minute…. THANKS for all your patience,” Front Gate, the company that handled ticketing, posted on Facebook after many ticket buyers struggled to enter their payment information.
This is the third straight year that Coachella has sold out, but as SPIN points out, they had a running start as many of this year’s passes went to early bird buyers in May.
