Comcast Corp. told the Federal Communications Commission in formal comments Tuesday that hampering some file-sharing by its subscribers was a justifiable way to keep Web traffic flowing for everyone.

Comcast’s network management is the subject of formal complaints to the FCC from consumer groups and law professors.

It is a fact that intenet speed is slowed by downloads, but this is often times on one's own computer. Blocking Bittorrents by the provider is like outlawing what is harmful. Big Gov, Big Brother, whatever. I imagine a company as large as Comcast and the major player in delivering home entertainment in the US is obviously in bed with studios and their artists. To think this is giving us better service is ridiculous.
