Glastonbury organizer Emily Eavis has come out and said that, despite rumors to the contrary, Daft Punk will not be playing the festival this year. The French house heroes recently signed a new deal with Columbia and will release their fourth album this spring. Via NME:
However, chatting to festival goers via her Twitter page, Emily Eavis confirmed that she has not booked Daft Punk for Glastonbury this year and that she believes they are not touring at all. Responding to a fan asking about the possibility of seeing them on the Pyramid Stage, Eavis wrote: “They might be doing other stuff but they’re not playing here. Onwards.”
Since releasing their last album in 2005, the pair have worked on the soundtrack for Tron, and been in the studio with the likes of Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder and Chilly Gonzales.
