The Quietus:

Rumours were rife that The xx guitarist Baria Quereshi had left the group after she decided not to play at their gig at the Village Underground in Shoreditch last night.

Consequence of Sound:

An incredibly chaotic year, one which included the release of an acclaimed debut album and a slew of appearances at the CMJ Music Marathon earlier this month, has finally appeared to have caught up to the English outfit known as The xx. As The Quietus reports, guitarist Baria Quereshi has left the band (at least temporarily), choosing not to perform at the band’s gig in London last night (Oct. 28).The xx released a statement shortly thereafter explaining that Quereshi did not play due to exhaustion and the band has thus decided to postpone the forthcoming European tour dates.
