Sometimes it just feels like the cosmos are working against you. Even though Sonic Youth recently recovered guitars that were stolen 11 years ago, another Indie rock god’s gear has come up missing. A guitar belonging to J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. was stolen during their recent show in Eugene, Oregon. The theft is especially devastating knowing that Mascis’ Squire Jazzmaster is iconic and one-of-a-kind, even prompting Fender to release a Mascis Jazzmaster in 2007. Via Pitchfork:

“Some characteristics that make this guitar unique: there is a dent in the neck, the pickups have no screws as they usually do and the action is currently set high. The guitar was in a soft gig bag.”

It’s all on you Eugene, Oregon. Find it or you’ll forever be known as that place that steals from touring acts. If you have any information, you can contact the band at band@dinosaurjr.com or call 303–998-0001.
