Long seen as the nicest man in rap, Drake came out swinging, on his new track “5AM in Toronto,” which dropped last night at roughly 1 a.m., Toronto time. In it, Drake takes shots at Common, arch-nemesis Chris Brown, former running buddy The Weeknd, and MTV’s “Hottest MCs in the Game” list. (Jesus, was anyone happy with that list?) Via All Hip Hop:
This came out right after the MTV’s much-debated “Hottest MCs in the Game” list, where Drizzy placed at #5.
Look at what he had to say about the “The List”:
“I swear, fuck them niggas this year/ I made Forbes list, nigga / Fuck your list, everything’s lookin’ gorgeous.”
Here’s his shot at his former compadre, the Weeknd:
“I show love, never get the same out of niggas/ Guess it’s funny how money can make change out of niggas/ For real, some nobody started feeling himself/ A couple somebodies started killing themself/ A couple albums dropped those are still on the shelf/ I bet them shits would have popped if I was willing to help.”
Addresses his beef with Chris Brown:
“Bad press during the summer over allegations/ I ain’t lyin’, my nigga, my time is money/ That’s why I ain’t got time for a nigga who’s time is comin.”
“Where you think she at when she ain’t with you?/ Wildin’, doin’ shit that’s way out of your budget/ Owl sweaters inside her luggage, you gotta love it/ Damn, this shit could go on a tape.”
Also, was ths a shot at Common:
“I’m headed to the bank nigga/ Sinatra lifestyle, I’m just being Frank, nigga.”
Well Drake has a lot on his mind so, I hope this eased the tension in his life, let’s see if there will be any response to this track.
Drake is like the rap game Bruce Banner. He’s usually a mild-mannered ex-child star, but you won’t like him when he’s angry.
