Spare us the cutter! Sorry, I love me some Echo. Art Info:
Though he’s best known for his work with Liverpool post-punk outfit Echo & the Bunnymen and his own solo projects, Will Sergeant continues to gain recognition for his visual art. After showing several pieces in Los Angeles last year during the Mr. Brainwash Art Show, Sergeant will have his U.S. solo debut next month at L.A.’s Substrate Fine Art Gallery.
The exhibition, “My Own Worst Enemy,” travels to L.A. from Liverpool’s Penny Lane Gallery, where it closed in February. At Substrate, Sergeant will show abstract paintings, collages, and screen prints.
“All of the works mean something to me and have a story behind them,” he said in a press release. “Some of them are tied to events that have taken place on tour or by situations I have found myself in.”
Sergeant will be in the house for the May 18 opening, 7pm – 11pm. He’ll do it again during the day of May 19, 2pm – 6pm. The exhibit runs until June 16.
