The most important part is the music. Without that, why would you care? Even the idea that you’re considering giving the music away for free makes it easier to give it away for free. The only reason why gold is expensive is because we all agree that it is. There’s no real use for it, except we all agree and abide by the idea that gold costs a certain amount per ounce. As soon as you give people the choice to deviate from it, you have chaos and anarchy. And that’s what going on.

Too bad Gene doesn't know the real reason gold is expensive.
Take a look here for a refresher...

Recorded music has been devalued simply because of market saturation. There is tons of it and it's easy to get.
Even if you could "sue the ass off every freckle face collage kid", you are just talking about downloading..not copying...how many people pressed 'record' on a cassette tape 20 years ago and taped LPs or the radio? Every freckle faced collage kid.
Did the industry colapse? No. It grew.
Artists and the record industry must get rid of the middle man,the retailer, for prices to come around to what the market will bear.
And artist must look for anyway to get their music heard...if it's isn't your song...it's someone else's.

Oh and thank goodness KISS isn't making any "new music"... not that "the kids" would buy it anyway.
