This past Saturday at the BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta, rappers Rick Ross and Young Jeezy got into an altercation backstage, causing enough of a stir that it eventually bled outside, though initial reports of gunfire were found to be untrue. While it is still unclear as to what actually happened, various accounts of the incident have been steadily coming out of the woodwork. Funkmaster Flex was the first one to break the story, essentially live-tweeting the brawl, but since then, other witnesses, including DJ Drama have come out with their side of the story. That altercation somehow lead to this altercation, outside, between Gunplay, a rapper in Ross’ camp, and 50 Cent’s entourage.

Check out DJ Drama’s account of the incident below.

While many may have believed that the cliché of Hip-hop awards shows being plagued by violence is from a bygone era, this series of incidents, sadly, proves otherwise.
