Ke$ha has walked back from comments she made on Twitter earlier this week, after her song “Die Young” was pulled from several radio stations following the Sandy Hook shootings. She initially said she had similar issues with the song, and was “forced” to sing it. She now acknowledges that “forced” may have been an overstatement. Via MTV:

”‘Forced’ is not the right word. I did have some concerns about the phrase ‘Die Young’ in the chorus when we were writing the lyrics… because so many of my fans are young,” she wrote. “That’s one reason why I wrote so many versions of this song. But the point of the song is the importance of living every day to the fullest and staying young at heart, and these are things I truly believe.”

She added that she used the word “forced” in a moment of “emotion and sadness.”
