Almost three years after her last show, Lily Allen returned to the stage earlier this week, singing “Smile” at a Paris Fashion Week event. Via NME:
Lily tweeted about her performance prior to the event, writing: “Just did rehearsal for tomorrow’s ETAM Show with @iamMarkRonson, still know the words to Smile, which is good. #mumback”.
Allen walked away from music in 2010, saying she was going on an indefinite hiatus to focus on her young family and her clothing business. Last year, she made an appearance on Pink’s single “True Love.” Allen recently revealed that she’s back in the studio, working on new material, as well.
She recently revealed she was back in the studio with producer Greg Kurstin, telling NME that she wanted to make sure her material was “amazing” before anything was released officially. She said:
“I’m not going to put anything out until I’ve got an end product which I think’s amazing – or, you know, good”. She added that her new music would see the light of day “hopefully in the next year”.
