U.S. pop star Madonna’s first single off of her new album “Hard Candy” is to debut in a new Sunsilk hair products commercial, Unilever announced Friday.

The TV spot, which will trace Madonna’s ever-evolving look through the years and feature her new song “4 Minutes,” is slated to air Monday.

“Hard Candy” is set to drop April 29.

“We’re proud to unveil a powerful advertisement that features a truly inspirational icon along with our new styling products,” David Rubin, director of U.S. Hair Care Operations for Unilever, said in a statement. “Madonna continues to be such an inspiration for young girls by continuously reinventing her looks, and we expect the new commercial will also encourage girls to evolve by changing their looks and making their hair and lives happen in a variety of exciting ways.”

It's amazing how far people will go to put Madonna down. I suppose it's been that way for 25 years...but she always comes out on top. Madonna is in a fascinating phase of her life. She looks and sounds amazing. Her career continues to go on and on and on. She has a very dedicated fan base who will follow her regardless of where she goes and how she chooses to portray her brand (herself(. What does society expect of her? That she should retreat to her mansion in England and arrange tea parties with the English upper set? Or to no longer express her creativity because she's turing 50. Madonna will always push the boundaries of what society consideers appropriate for a woman..she's irreverent...and that's why we love her.
