It’s fair to say that history has not been kind to Slowdive. The Manics said they were worse than Hitler, and as Britpop tugged at its braces, their sensitive epics were hooted and honked at in the music press. Their final album, 1995’s Pygmalion, was largely ignored, despite it holding up well as a sparse, enjoyable record of electronic minimalism. Do they perhaps deserve the chance to restore their name? Well, Neil Halstead, now fronting the Americana-tinged Mojave 3, has told MTV Hive that “There’s a chance that we’ll get back together. No one has ever really said, ‘I never want to do it.’ We’ve never really talked about it much.” Half-joking, Halstead said it would take “shitloads of money” for Slowdive to reunite…
