(Pictured right.) In a profile of Bidzina Ivanishvili, a Georgian billionaire described as the only opposition to sitting President Mikheil Saakashvili, The New Republic points to Ivanishvili’s son Bera’s interesting past-time: rap!
Ivanishvili’s family is unusual for Georgia. He’s married to his college sweetheart, an ethnic Ukrainian. Two of his three sons are albinos; his 15-year-old daughter is not, but makes up for it by wearing white pancake makeup of a goth. The middle son, Bera, was shaking gold chains into the camera as a Georgian-language party rapper in Los Angeles; when the campaign started, he returned to Georgia to support his father with political freestyles on YouTube. (Soon, Bera found himself beefing with the pro-government rapper Tsvali [“Bone”], who recorded a polished video about the sweet life under Saakashvili.)
The New Republic‘s headline is the best thing we’ve read in ages: “Georgia’s Next Leader May Be a Billionaire Zookeeper with Albino Rapper Children”. Well okay then. Here’s an example of Bera’s auto-tuned, bougie lean.
