Okay. So Prop 8 passed. Alright, I get it. 51% of you think that I am a second class citizen. Alright then. So my wife, uh I mean, roommate? Girlfriend? Special lady friend? You are gonna have to help me here because I am not sure what to call her now. Anyways, she and I are not allowed the same right under the state constitution as any other citizen. Okay, so I am taking that to mean I do not have to pay my state taxes because I am not a full citizen. I mean that would just be wrong, to make someone pay taxes and not give them the same rights, sounds sort of like that taxation without representation thing from the history books.

Okay, cool I don’t mean to get too personal here but there is a lot I can do with the extra half a million dollars that I will be keeping instead of handing it over to the state of California. Oh, and I am sure Ellen will be a little excited to keep her bazillion bucks that she pays in taxes too.

One day we will shift the conscience of our fellow people.
Thank you for being the extraordinary artist/woman that you are.
We will shift mankind.
One person, one day at a time.
Until then, I just told true to envisioning that day.
I see it.

LOL WHAT AN IDIOT. you lost, stfu and get over it. maybe you'll organize people next time instead of assuming that california is a purely liberal state.

have fun not paying your taxes. you sound like a great person indeed. i imagine you will enjoy a nice jail stay where you can whine to the rest of the inmates about being a 2nd class citizen. i'm sure they will give a fuck. boo fucking hoo.

Boo-fucking-hoo!!

I love it when gays have it shoved into their faces that society as whole - both Dems and Reps - refuse to buy into their bullshit. They brought this upon themselves by constantly shoving their views into people's faces and brow-beating them into going along with their bullshit or risk being called a racist or homophobe or whatever other "tolerant" epithet they choose (which is sooo typical of liberals when their arguments are proven to be as empty as their heads) and this time, the people finally got tired of it and shoved back and proved as much by their vote.

As for Etheridge, she has every right to not pay her taxes just as the State of California has every right to either TAKE them from her via liens or to toss her worthless has-been ass into a 5'x8' cell until she does. I wonder if anyone will "come to her window" then? AHAHAHAHA!!! I highly doubt it.

No one cares about you or your shitty, worthless music Mel, so just shut the fuck up and go the fuck away.

I agree with the last 2 posts. Look, the people have spoken. The passing of prop 8 is democracy at it's best. I guarantee, if prop 8 would have failed by 51%, you surely would'nt be screaming and yelling about the 49% who wanted to defeat it. It's what the "people" want, not Ethridge, or DeGeneres or any other individual person for that matter. By protesting a legitimate passing by voters, you show the world how truly un-American you are.

#5 Duh says:

You guys are morons. Whatever you think about Etheridge or Ellen, the point is that taking away rights is un-Constitutional. Banning gay marriage is a prime example of how church and state have been indistinguishable in politics for too long, while there happens to be a clause in our American legacy about these being separate, for good reason. She's right about taxation without representation as well. This isn't about being 'a gay', but about being an American with rights as citizens and taxpayers.

#6 playabator says:

No one has taken any rights away from anyone. Melissa Ethridge and Ellen have the same right to marry a man as any other woman.

#7 ummm says:

since when is losing an a popular vote and not allowing people to vote the same thing? no ones rights have been taken away, she simply was on the losing end of a vote.

#8 wow says:

looks like most posts here should start out, I don't like gay people and don't give a shit about thier rights..sad

#9 John Bisceglia says:

More and more of us are WAKING UP, America. No taxation without equality; simple math.

Now the feds will need to repeal DOMA and DADT, grant us FULL equal rights (including marriage), and begin to start
viewing our families - OUR FAMILIES - as the tax-paying contributing members of society we are.....well.....we USED to be!

Because if our HOMES, our FAMILIES, our very BELOVED are not acknowledged and valued as other families are legally,
whatever we do outside of that home will never be acknowledged and valued legally, such as adopting children,
working without discrimination, or serving openly in the military.

FAMILY FIRST. What is more important than FAMILY?

We owe the IRS absolutely NOTHING until equal. NOTHING. Get it?

This is NOT a test.
This is NOT a debate.
This is NOT a vote.
This is definitely NOT a popularity contest.

This IS justice - GAY TAX PROTEST.
