The Morrissey memoir is definitely happening and it’s coming out in two weeks. Distribution plans are in place for the U.K. and Europe; no word yet on the U.S. Via FACT:
What looked (at the time) to be some PR face-saving turns out to be true: Penguin Classics will release Autobiography on October 17, in the UK and Europe. Penguin Classics is usually the home for classic literature, but Morrissey pushed for the “Classic” designation.
“I can’t see why not – a contemporary Penguin Classic,” he told BBC Radio 4 previously. “When you consider what really hits print these days and when you look at the autobiographies and how they are sold, most of it is appalling. It’s a publishing event, not a literary event.”
