I live in chicago, so I got excited to finally see the MBV U.S. tour dates - but then I saw the venue and thought what a fukking waste - the Aragon is hands down the worst place to see any band (maybe the Congress comes close), let alone the godlike MBV - what a fuking waste of an opportunity - why not a few nights at the Riv around the corner - now I'll have to look into seeing them out-of-state.
You must be f#@ing kidding me!! I beg you. Pleeeaase, pleeaase come down the east coast at least as far as Charlotte or Atlanta. Are there any other east coast tour dates planned???
Some serious bad venues - Roseland? Aragon? Concourse?
Prepare to crane thy neck.
Not that I don't like MBV but what is it with this site and they're need to publish a headline every time MBV chips a nail or goes to the store for groceries.
No doubt, these venues are the worst.
The Concourse in SF is a convention center type place meant for trade shows and whatnot. It's terrible for concerts. I'm not looking forward to how much it's going to cost AND how it's going to sound. I'd have much rather seen them play the Warfield or even Bill Graham.
because this is bigger news to your mom then when you got laid for the first time.
venues: the worst.
cities: same old shit.
# of shows: a complete backhand to the face of your fans.
It's called testing the waters, people. They do a brief, focused tour and determine what the demand for their live show is. These guys have been essentially out of circulation for 15 years. They aren't going to play a show in Nowheresville just because you don't want to drive to LA. And they certainly aren't going to plan a 50-city tour without knowing if Kevin Shields is going to freak out and call the whole thing off halfway thru.
just chill and they'll schedule a more comprehensive tour after they see how much people are freaking out to see them. anyone remember the old spiritualized tours? they'd do the same thing back then. there's way too much money to be made for them to just do this one little tour...that is unless kevin DOES freak out haha...
Geez, you guys can be some cranky SOB's when you wanna be, huh? Let's not forget that My Bloody effing Valentine is coming to America and playing shows! I mean, I'm sorry they're not playing your personal favorite venue or whatever. Hell, I'd love it if I could see them at St Andrews Hall in Detroit, but come on. Get your funky butts to a show and I dunno, ENJOY THE MUSIC.
Just a thought, people...
I would see My Bloody Valentine in the hewn-rotting-carcass of my grandmother if that was my only option. I am so excited to finally get a chance to see them. Some of you people should be grateful that they are even coming to your city. I live in Tulsa-devoid-of-culture-or-anything-interesting, Oklahoma. Besides getting to Sonic Youth recently, groups like TOBY KEITH/BRITNEY SPEARS/THE EAGLES end up being the headliners. So, I guess my enthusiasm comes from desperation. I will definitely make it to Chicago.
To further prove my point about my desperation, I just recently learned that DEF LEPPARD/CHEAP TRICK/POISON will be performing at the amazing BOK Center; right here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. :( But I think this kind of disappointment has caused me to scratch tooth and nail for good music. I am so excited that they are touring in the States!
