No one quite knows who or what 3rdEyeGirl actually is. It could be Prince pulling a fast one on all of us, but then there’s that cease-and-desist order that Prince’s legal team issued to the site that has been selling videos and songs by the purple one. It’s all very confusing, but that’s Prince for you… Via Pitchfork:
It’s possible that 3rdEyeGirl, which also has a mysterious presence on YouTube and Twitter, is a Prince disguise, or comes from a Prince-associated entity. But it’s also entirely possible that 3rdEyeGirl is the work of an unaffiliated third party working to leak Prince’s material. Last month, Minnesota’s CityPages reported that Prince’s litigation sent a cease-and-desist letter to 3rdEyeGirl, claiming that, “It has recently come to our attention that a person with the alias of 3rdEyeGirl has posted four bootlegs of Prince’s music.”
Anyway, check out a new acoustic jam, “That Girl Thang,” on Souncloud.
