The Oregonian:

A Radio Cab plowed right through a ground floor unit at the Jupiter Hotel this morning, landing on top of a 40-year-old man who was still in bed.

Central Precinct Officer Stuart Palmiter and three maintenance workers had to lift the taxi cab off the bed. And then someone had to put it in reverse and drive it out of the motel unit…

The cab driver was lying in the hotel parking lot with a heavy comforter on top of her.

Together with three or four maintenance workers, Palmiter helped lift the back tires of the cab because they were stuck on what was left of Room 115’s front wall, and the cab couldn’t back up.

The occupant of the room, identified by firefighters as Jon Toubin, “was literally stuck under the front of the car,” Palmiter said…

He said Toubin suffered life-threatening injuries and is being treated in the trauma unit at OHSU hospital…
