Singer/songwriter Joe Henry has spent the last dozen years charting one of those careers that has quietly put him on the path towards legendary status. Aside from releasing 11 eclectic and adventurous records of his own (including last year’s Civilians), he has a knack for getting involved in a host of interesting collaborations, from Aimee Mann and Ani DiFranco to Solomon Burke and now Allen Toussaint.

what a great interview... Joe Henry has to be one of the most intriguing musicians around.

The dimension and perspective he brings to the craft of music is just staggering. I am constantly thrilled by the projects he seem to unearth. The Solomon Burke record he produced for Anti several years ago is one of the most beautiful and stunning records I have ever heard. And Joe's solo efforts are one of few things I truly look forward to...
