Never say today’s young EDM whippersnappers don’t respect their elders. Prodigy’s landmark album Fat of the Land is getting a 15th anniversary rerelease in December, which will include remixes from such current stars as Noisea, Zeds Dead, Major Lazer and Baauer. Via Resident Advisor:
[When it first came out in 1997, The Fat of the Land was one of dance music’s biggest crossover hits. Thanks in part to its quasi-pop song structures and vocals from eye-catching frontman Keith Flint, it landed The Prodigy in mainstream charts, on MTV and at huge festivals like Glastonbury and Lollapalooza. The album went double-platinum in the US, was nominated for a Grammy and entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest-selling UK album ever.
The release will be celebrated by having current DJs sit by the fire and listen to Grandpa Keith and Uncle Liam tell stories of the olden days, when you had to dial a special number to find out where the party was, then walk seven miles uphill in the snow to get to the rave.
