Journey Music:

A new chapter in the legendary career of multi-Platinum rockers JOURNEY—Neal Schon (guitar), Jonathan Cain (keyboards), Ross Valory (bass), Deen Castronovo (drums) and Arnel Pineda (vocals)—will begin on June 3 with the highly anticipated release of REVELATION, a three-disc CD and DVD package to be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores in North America.

The first disc will consist of 11 re-recorded classics, the second is filled with 11 new songs, and the third is a live, in-concert DVD. All of the music on REVELATION was produced by Kevin Shirley (who previously worked with JOURNEY on their Platinum-certified TRIAL BY FIRE album).

I think you got the headline wrong, it should read:
Revulsion: Journey re-records greatest hits with new singer Arnel Pineda... Wal-Mart exclusive... a cheap trick with no heart...

#2 cm says:

What's up with the Steve Perry look-alike? What a scam. I used to think you guys were cool. You should have retired 20 years ago.

#3 MAR says:

Can't wait for August. We're ready with our tickets. It's nice to have Journey back again...

#4 Joe says:

Please dont listen to the retards above that have no taste in music. I'm sure there will be some that will never try to listen to you guys without Steve Perry. I for am am delighted to see Journey back on tour. I'll be there this summer. For the record, Arnel Pineda not only sounds like Steve Perry, but he sounds better than Steve Perry. No disrespect to Steve, but I find myself listening to the youtube videos with Arnel, and just dont think my old Journey CD's with Steve Perry sound as good. Arnel is the real deal and I like Journey better since Arnel has jumped on board. Cant wait until August!

#5 kitkat says:

you are right Joe, I am a big fan of SP but since he is no longer with Journey we have to move on and this guy Arnel is a great singer, he is been singing for 25 years.

So let's all buy their upcoming CD's with DVD, see you Journey in Lake Tahoe concert.

#6 cheri says:

some people are funny! very typical of local arrogance. Steve Perry is a very respectful artist! You dont behave like him though. lol

#7 James Ferrera says:

In this new episode of Journey came out Nostradamuses of rock music predicting Journey with AP is doomed etc. etc. What if not? Would you have the courage to post a comment "I was wrong". I'm just curious.

#8 Ann PIlarta says:

It's about the band and the music. I'll give this new guy a chance. He sounds great!!

#9 Jhenna says:

I never cared for Journey until I checked Arnel Pineda's You Tube clips out of curiosity. And this is the best thing I ever did, I got hooked with Journey's music. I am 23 yrs. old and I know that the younger generation will appreciate Journey's music. I am not a fan of Hip-hop and Rap. I think Arnel Pineda is cool and has a great voice fit for rock and ballads. I think Steve Perry is great too...but isn't it time for him to retire? The guy is freakin 59 yrs. old!
Who in the hell would want to watch a 59 yr. old jumping around and singing his heart out! NOT ME!

#10 Jetstream says:

As I was listening to AP's voice, it's sounds great. He has his own identity. The comparison is that AP's voice is better, no disrespect to Steve. I'm not particular of race.

#11 Angela says:

When is Journey coming to Toronto, Canada? They're just great!!!!

#12 Andrew says:

I'm happy they re-recorded the greatest hits. I want to hear how he compares with Steve P. And from what I have heard, seen, read so far, looks like Arnel P. does a good job. Maybe too good for some and won't accept that the new kid in town sounds better than the original.

'You doth protest too much'

#13 MVP says:

I've always admired SP, but so great that Journey is back and with an incredible new front man in Arnel Pineda,he sounds so awesome! As much as we love SP, we have to move on and just appreciate this great legend of a band coming back so strongly with their new found great vocalist in Arnel! I see no color, doesn't matter what race or religion, etc. I just hear his great voice. SP has long retired, time to welcome the revived Journey! Congrats to Journey and their new man! Saw your concert in Vegas, will see it again in Irvine! Just awesome!

#14 Hans (the Netherlands) says:

Looking forward to see them in Nijmegen on 15 june (Arrow Rock Festival)
i think Arnel Pineda sounds GREAT we must leave the past behind.

#15 LP says:

Whoo hoo! Journey is back and with a great vocalist in Arnel! To O.Sherry and CM, you just don't get it, do you,
live in the now, SP was great then...but that was then..this is now....like what MVP and Hans said....move on..enjoy their greatest hits and their great new songs...
be open minded...you might be surprised how with a clear mind and clean "ears" lol....you will enjoy them again!
This Arnel that you so put down....he was the one that brought the band back to life!!! Just be happy...dig it..
it really is such an awesome thing this reemerging of the Journey with a little (or should I say great) help from their friend Arnel!

#16 Lisa says:

No matter what, the new guy or the old guy in as the frontman, I am still asking my hubby to buy me the new album!

Journey is a rockband, it's not a SOLO act!

I just don't understand why some people keep on harping on about former members of a band who left more than a decade ago! If this is their attitude towards a rock band, I wonder what's their attitude in life? no forward moving attitude? that stinks!

#17 Kobe says:

Who's Steve Perry? Who's SP? Should I ask my grandpa?

#18 AlwayZ Phil says:

Steve is Steve; and there's nothing we can do about it except to cherish the moment when he was at the helm. Arnel is in his forties with a great voice - now have you ever wondered as in a subjunctive moon if the two of them were to audition at the same time ;-] In 1990, at a tender age as a rocker with a higher tenor voice than today, Arnel won the best vocalist award at the Yamaha World Band Explosion.

Again, Steve is Steve - let it be for the simple reason that Arnel could easily sing Freddie Mercury's Bohemian Rhapsody with ease (which he won singing in the 1988 Asian Leg of the Yamaha World Explosion) and other of Queen's songs to which I really doubt Steve could even hit the fifth note doing so in his younger age. ;-]

#19 Dallas87 says:

Got my "REVELATION" best album that i ever bought; giving it a 5 star rating.

#20 knowell basset says:

in this album revelation,i'm hearing van halen guitar and headset moment... i'm telling everybody to be quiet and past the monchees>>and there's a moment i realized i'm married and in love again but this is year 2008 can't be what's these positive wave going on.JOURNEY i thought you R.I.P. already.
you guys scaring me, i'm going to fight the fear,i will see you face to face in Mandalay Bay -Las Vegas july 18.

#21 Don says:

Got my new Revelation CD at WalMart last night! Awesome!! Arnel Pineda . . . is really a revelation bringing back Journey to life once again!

#22 DFWTX says:

found this in this website... http://www.immigrationnewsman.com/SUC...

best comment i've read so far about AP's being asian... in verbatim...

Folks, I am a "white guy" too, but I think it is WRONG to compare singers. It is like comparing, well, apples and oranges. But let me tell you this: It is ALL ABOUT VOCALS. I love the previous versions, too, but this guy Arnel Pineda whacks this song with emotion and great pitch and vocals. He may not have the looks of your favorite singer, but, heck, he delivers the same song with passion. YOU NEED A SINGER TO SING A SONG, NOT A GQ MATERIAL! This guy is a SINGER!

#23 Sean says:

I agree totally DFWTX.
The new lead singer is NOT the Steve and his vocals is not the same as Steve. Only Steve Perry can be Steve Perry. But like DFWTX said Arnel sings with passion and thats what's is all about.

Please don't have bias opinions and be open minded. This is a new chapter for Journey and I am excited for it.

#24 Roberta (Italy) says:

I am listening to REVELATION right now! AWESOME!

Will fly to Manchester to see them live!

#25 Bernard Settles says:

Nice first 2 posts , O.Sherry and Cm. It got me curious to check out the new guy. Whoaa! This guy is amazing! He blew me away. I heard the clips from Walmart online and I am definitely buying this time.

#26 oa says:

steve perry who is that let me ask my grandpa

#27 Jason says:

Journey, can't wait to see you in NC. Arnel, welcome, you're amazing and can't wait to hear you sing live too. Wow, SP got to rein in on your fans - some of them are the most ignorant I have ever seen here on the net. They go to every Journey or Arnel videos on yt, etc. and make the most ignorant comments ever. It's not constructive criticisms but rude and below the belt. And way to go for Augeri, a class act of a person and I must say your fans are also class acts like you. Never seen anything below the belt written by them on any Journey related or AP videos/article. Just that they prefer you. You'll surely missed too. But meanwhile, God speed Journey and goodluck on your world and U.S. tours.

#28 P-Boy says:

There is only one Steve Perry but I have to admit that Arnel Pineda does a stunning job on his first Journey album. I love the free DVD which came with the album. It was great to see Arnel working with group. In closing, Steve Perry's vocal talents will be missed as well as his creative input in writing Journey's songs. But we all have to move on. Welcome to the group, Arnel and welcome back Journey!

#29 ahneeroz says:

before i posted my comment i go over all theirs... well what i can say is that in every period of time there are shining stars that will bloom in perfect timing like arnel now... maybe the reason behind why SP has been out from journey is that heaven will give us new great voice from a simple guy that amazed people of the world!I believe heaven is using least to be the greatest... so hope u consider that guys coz thats the truth.

#30 erniebalajadia says:

STEVE is no longer in the limelight, he cannot sing no more the way it used to be! Now, the New Journey comeback with new lead singer in person of the name Arnel Pineda with the "Angelic Voice" Wow! sure they will click throughout this world! They are now touring around the world minus SP!They will boom with their electrifying sounds (instrument so good)looks like they became heavy metal rocks, sounds like that, its so good!!!

#31 virg918 says:

Every individual is unique. AP is not SP. SP is history and will always be remembers. This is today, and it is a gift that is why they call it "present". AP is a gift to the rock 'n roll world.

#32 Don says:

Journey's Revelation Album is simply amazing! Arnel Pineda rocks! This is a real deal!! Five Stars!!!

#33 Tony says:

In this week's ranking, Journey's Revelation fanpack went #5 in Billboard's top album chart (all genres). The album also took several top positions in other categories (even #1 in rock indie) on its debut week. It proves something very clear about AP's role in keeping the Journey legacy alive.

#34 erniebalajadia says:

Went to the Bristol, Super Wal-mart here in Virginia and Bristol, Tenn.- Journey-revelation was SOLD OUT!!!Even the old CD of Journey has gone. Now, whos' sayin' that without Steve Perry the band Journey is nothing. Eat your word fellow! The New JOURNEY with Arnel is alive! With Arnels' "angelic voice" the group looks younger, and they are now touring around the world minus Steve Perry! Ha!ha!ha! Don't insist SP, hes' solo now, album "Street Talk" nilangaw! Lets' rockin' with the New Reborn "JOURNEY"band. they're clicking!!! Arnels' only new to the band got already a millions' fans!

#35 Rock Fan says:

I have never bought any Journey album. I am more a Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple fan. Journey you did the most important thing, 'Rejuvenation'. When I heard the rejuvenated Journey sound on the Ellen show, I said Journey you are back in business. Now I am hooked. Your frontman AP is young and has a fantastic voice. Now what matter most is the present and the future. Journey you will journey on with more Platinum records. After 'Revelation' maybe call your next album 'Rejuvenation'.

#36 JRNY is a Joke says:

Journey is a cover band.

#37 CEO says:

Journey you have confirmed my belief that no one is indispensible not even Steve Perry. If you cannot work with the band there are equally or more talented people waiting. If you resist change you are history. Journey did not and that is the real reason Journey is still rocking today. Where and why have some of the greatest rock bands like the Queen, Led Zeppelin or the Who gone? These bands could still be rocking today if there are careful rejuvenation of the band. Just Do It like JOURNEY.

#38 janetrn2008 says:

Wowwwwwww!!!!! Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain are right. Arnel Pineda's voice is so full of emotions and soul.

I am hooked on this new CD, especially Turn Down the World Tonight and What It Takes to Win.

#39 Cecille says:

I am so proud of Arnel. Thank you Neal for giving him the chance of a lifetime. My husband bought me the "Revelation" since he has seen me watching Arnel on Youtube over and over and in tears (of joy). I hope he will always make me proud.

#40 Geoff says:

Some People make me laugh. I won't mention names, but for some "fans" (I use that word loosely) to take the time to come on this thread just to be "cute" and try to defame the guys in Journey and the die-hard fans that still respect them and their musical direction they are headed in....it is both humorous and disturbing at the same time. Personally, I wouldn't take the time to go out of my way to tell people why I don't like a certain band anymore. It is extremely tacky....just stop listening and go play in the street or something, but don't be a poor looser just because some of the members in the band have changed, or you don't like the musical direction, etc. I am so sick of rudeness from people who have decided not to accept or embrace change within the Journey family. If you don't want be part of the family (being a fan) anymore, then go away. But, to refer to Arnel Pineda as a "scam" is very offensive! The guy paid his dues for 20+ years to have this current opportunity with Journey, and deserves to be respected. There are plenty of bands that I used to like, but for some reason I don't listen to them much anymore, but I also won't go out of my way to offend the band and their fans by making rude and ignorant comments. I know....why let it bother me....right? Because it is behavior that should not be accepted. I would never publicly trash any band or band member. That is the thing with websites.....just because you CAN sit in your favorite easy chair in your own home and keystroke any childish or insensitive comment you want, doesn't mean you SHOULD. A website is a PUBLIC place because you are able to speak to the masses (just like shouting your opinion from a street corner) and you should behave by having some DIPLOMACY. If you say something publicly from a street corner and it offends a person walking by, they might punch you in the face. For the rude people out there, just be glad the true Journey fans out there like myself don't know where you live....because sometimes a child just needs a good beating to grow up!

#41 ed says:

No doubt.. The new Journey band is going to lead the Billboard chart as #1... Here in Europe.. they are well famous with their new lead singer who revived them. Undeniably, Arnel lifted the band to move on!... so let's all rock and roll!...
