The rumors are heavy at this point, but no confirmation just yet. Coverage from the Hollywood Reporter:
Kate Bush is one of the biggest music names mentioned here as a potential performer at Sunday’s star-studded closing ceremony for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The singer’s name is being bandied about in the British media alongside acts touted as already booked, including Muse, George Michael, The Who and the much-anticipated reunion of The Spice Girls.
But, as with the opening ceremony, the exact nature and makeup of the show and acts is a heavily-guarded secret.
The speculation started in earnest earlier this week, as NME explains:
A remix of Kate Bush track ‘Running Up That Hill’ which appeared on Amazon yesterday has sparked rumours that the singer may be performing at the Olympic closing ceremony. The page on Amazon, which has since been deleted, showed a 2012 remix of the track listed for Sunday (August 12) to coincide with the Olympic closing ceremony. You can see the artwork for the track above.
Meanwhile, here’s Muse and the official video of the London 2012 Olympics…
