A spokesperson for pop-reggae singer Shaggy has told TMZ that the “Boombastic” singer is still alive, after the phrase “RIP Shaggy” began circulating on Twitter yesterday.

“[Shaggy] is like a cat with 9 lives… but I can happily report that he’s alive and kicking and in the same building as me right now as we speak,” Shaggy’s representative said.

Shaggy joins Eddie Murphy, Morgan Freeman, Kris Jenner, Megan Fox and Madonna on the list of people falsely reported dead on the Internet.
