Couldn’t You Wait, the documentary about veteran Chicago indie rock act Silkworm, is out now. It features interviews with Steve Albini, Jeff Tweedy, Stephen Malkmus and Mission of Burma’s Clint Conley among others. Silkworm ended in 2005 after drummer Michael Dahlquist’s car was hit by a woman attempting to commit suicide.
You can get the movie by itself for $5. For $10, you get the film plus Live Worm, a 90-minute compilation of classic Silkworm concert footage (including a clip of Tim Midgett performing with the Mountain Goats). For $20, you get a pretty comprehensive pile of special features: deleted scenes, deleted quotes, an 18-minute feature on the late Michael Dahlquist, a short feature called “What Is Indie Rock?”, and a 45-minute feature discussing each song from the band’s catalog.
You can buy the film here.
