The Faces reformed last night (October 26) in the UK for a special charity gig at the Royal Albert Hall, without Rod Stewart participating, but Kenney Jones told the BBC that a full reunion is very likely. On vocals, Rod was replaced at the concert by guest performers that including Mick Hucknall (Simply Red), Mel C and Kiki Dee with the line-up of Ian McLagan, Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones of The Who, with Wood’s Rolling Stones bandmate Bill Wyman replacing the late Ronnie Lane on bass.
The charity show benefitted PRS for Music Benevolent Fund, which supports musicians and their families in need.
Though Rod Stewart continues to be busy with other priorities curremtly (and missed last night’s show due to commitments in the USA for his new album), drummer Kenney Jones says he is ready for a full reunion, so it’s just a matter of time.
At last night’s show at the Royal Albert Hall Mick performed 2 songs with Billy Wyman’s Rhythm Kings- “Reconsider Baby” and “634–5789” then came back onstage with The Faces to sing “Stay With Me”.
