Full muse at The Tape:
Pitchfork can be the voice we hate, the voice we love, and the voice we pointedly ignore. Yet it is, for better or for worse, the strongest voice of our generation. As we grow older, graduate from school, start to work, we’ll want our publication to cover our music. This, perhaps, is the reason why I feel so antagonistic towards EDM. It’s the first music movement that I feel I’m too old to have caught. Instead of growing with me, Pitchfork has tossed me aside for a new generation of readers. I’m not claiming universality, but I also don’t think I’m the only one with this feeling.
