Oops, there goes another Goodyear Tire & Rubber plant. In a painful, new documentary-style video for Ronnie Dunn’s “Cost of Livin,’” former employees of a shutdown rubber plant describe what is was like to get laid off. Interspersed with Dunn’s lyrics, the heartbreaking words of the unemployed perfectly captures what will be on everyone’s mind come election time. From The New York Times:
An unidentified middle-aged man with a baseball cap sitting on his front porch with his wife and daughter says: “Went to work that day, and there it was. They were closing the plant.” He pauses and looks at the camera. “Scared. Think about your kids, what are they going to do? What are we going to do?”
