Ticketmaster Reneges? Professional Scalper Feels Hosed, Takes the Master to Court...
Ticketmaster Entertainment entered into agreements to bump the price of tickets and share the profits, according to a lawsuit filed last week. Elite Entertainment head Chuck Lombardo filed the action in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging the action on a number of events, including those for the Eagles, Journey, and Van Halen. The lawsuit also targets Ticketmaster subsidiaries TicketsNow and Front Line Management.
The markup arrangement is actually secondary to the main complaint. According to the filing, Ticketmaster used Lombardo’s expertise to better understand the secondary ticketing market before reneging on various agreements. That includes an alleged promise to hire Lombardo and acquire his company, a result that never materialized.
