The Daily Beast delivers a list of whom they think will close out the year with solid albums. Tellingly, there’s only one that’s being released on an indie label.
Bob Dylan, the oldest person on the list and early favorite for top dad-gift-for-Christmas, gets early praise for his Titanic-influenced opus. Via The Daily Beast:
And the title track, a 14-minute opus consisting of 45 verses, no choruses, and the accompaniment of Irish-sounding accordion and fiddle, depicts the sinking of the RMS Titanic and includes horrifying scenes of death and chaos—even working in a none-too-subtle reference to James Cameron’s movie about the disaster.
It’s going to be a wet fall.
