Vancouver-based noise-rock duo, Japandroids are in the running to become the new entrance music for the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks. It may seem like a long shot since they are up against some big names, but we have faith. Also, word on the street is that if they win, all of the players will have to publicly apologize for shoving Japandroids into their lockers in high school. Via The Line of Best Fit:

Japandroids, who are from Vancouver themselves, have their track ‘The House That Heaven Built’ from last year’s Celebration Rock in the running alongside the likes of Nickelback and Guns N Roses.

The winner will replace current entrance music, U2′s ‘Where The Streets Have No Name’, for the next two games.

Vote here if only so that Nickelback can lose.
