“We believe strongly that great music didn’t stop in the ‘70s,” Eric Johnson, executive vice president for Wolfgang’s Vault, said Wednesday from his San Francisco office on a temperate 50-degree day. “The fans of the concerts up at Wolfgang’s Vault will find the stuff on Daytrotter and love it.”

“Wolfgang’s Vault kind of has a slightly more experienced crowd going to their site,” Moeller added from his Davenport home as another winter snowstorm rolled across the frigid Iowa plains. “Fans of the Beatles, Rolling Stones – if they haven’t turned off their ears to new music – are really going to freak about the new stuff we have on our site.”

Neither company would disclose financial terms of the deal, except to say that Wolfgang’s stake is just above 50 percent and was obtained through a buyout of former Daytrotter investor Bob McIlwain of the Quad Cities.
