Earlier this week, Frank Ocean said he was already 10 or 11 songs deep on his next project. Apparently at least one of those songs was done with the help of Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore and The Knife’s Christoffer Berg. Via NME:
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Dave Gahan said that his bandmate Gore worked on a song for Ocean’s new record alongside The Knife producer Christoffer Berg. Gahan said that they met Ocean in New York whilst they were recording.
“Suddenly in the doorway, I sensed this presence, and I realised there was this guy standing there just watching,” said Gahan. “An assistant came up to me in between songs and said, 'Do you mind? Frank Ocean is here working in another studio and really wants to meet you guys.’ I wouldn’t have thought he would have even known who we are, but it turns out he’s a big fan.” He continued: “Martin and Christoffer Berg ended up doing a track with him, which I think is going to be part of his new record. Martin did some electronics and some modular synthesizer stuff he really wanted.”
We are almost unreasonably excited about this.
