Converse looking to 'Connect' with a few living, breathing artists too
David Prince

While the barefoot masses are busy debating the morality of the Converse Kurt Cobain signature series and the wisdom of using Hunter S. Thompson, Sid Vicious, and Ian Curtis as ‘Converse Century Icons’, artist managers around the country are angling to prove their bands are contemporarily iconic enough to be connected to Converse for this summer’s upcoming print advertising assault. Not that Nike’s offering any cash for these coveted spots in consumer/trade print advertising (i.e The Fader, Rolling Stone), digital advertising, snipes, billboards, bus backs, in-store posters, postcards, stand-up displays and trade show booths, but hey, free sneakers! Though there is one catch:
Athletic shoe exclusivity for term
M.I.A., James Murphy, and all of the soon-to-be selected “established and emerging bands and solo artists throughout the different regional markets”: better watch your feet in public. We’ll be watching.

Yay, fuck the dead.
Roll out James Murphy, MIA, and Karen O (preferably wearing Converse and not much else).

Nike owns Converse
How about a Squarepusher shoe? They would look good with some Aphex Twin slacks, an Autechre button up shirt and a Nounverber trucker cap.
"How about a Squarepusher shoe? They would look good with some Aphex Twin slacks,"
They made them. But apparently the shoe was so complicated that only Jenkison knew how to tie them and the Aphex pants wear a mediocre affair designed soley to help him wiggle out of record contract.
"what is going on with murphy's pants in that photo?"
it's called uncalibrated monitor combined with shoddy photoshop work.
>what's going on with james murphy's pants?
