Way to go guys. Focusing on incredible reunions like The Feelies will help to build interest in the Sound Opinions radio show on a national level. I hope you cover the Chumbawumba reunion when that finally happens. Keep up the good work.
YES! It is reunion fever! I heard FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD is opening the show! SICK! Just when you think the quality of music could not get any better, you hear something like this, and BOOM, you decide suicide is not necessary. THANKS
What's with all the idiotic sarcasm? If you don't know anything about The Feelies, the NY Times thought the reunion important enough to put on the front page of their Arts section. Read and learn...
Yeah, the Feelies reuniting isn't about cashing in, dipshits. There would have to be cash in order to cash in. This isn't the Stone Temple Pilots; this is an important group from rock's avant garde--these are artists, not accountants, so they're welcome back anytime.
I agree with Charlie. Dennis Hopper stopped being cool when he told me how to invest my money. Douche Bag!
Thank you Charles. As many shows as I've seen since the 80s, and there have been some great ones, nothing comes close to the Feelies at Maxwells or anywhere else for that matter. These videos are magical.
I went last night. Great, great show and the perfect venue for it.
I used to go to lots of their shows and those of their various spin-off bands here in New York in the 80s (and I guess the early/mid 90s, I can't even remember any more) so this was really special.
I admit to a certain nostalgia, but The Feelies sounded vital and timeless. They ought to knock 'em dead opening for Sonic Youth at Battery Park on Friday.
Sarcasm is really funny. Especially when it's uneducated sarcasm.
The Feelies at Maxwell's were some of the best concerts ever. Mesmerizing. One of the reasons I think the group has been lost to memeory was because they were in the gap between tape and CDs. I'm thrilled to know they're back.
Thomas - you are absolutely right. The Feelies at Maxwells were some of the most amazing live shows ever. And they were just as amazing at the 9:30 Club, Khyber Pass, 8x10, etc etc! More live dates, please!
