Jason Bentley's First Day at Morning Becomes Eclectic...Check The Playlist...

New KCRW Music Director and new host of Morning Becomes Eclectic Jason Bentley begins and ends his first show with Air. The first full track is Mark Isham’s theme from the film Crash. It then runs the gamut from popular MOR-alt bands Coldplay and Keane, buzzing new bands Friendly Fires and School of Seven Bells, classics from Kate Bush and ELO, and lots of women: Emiliana Torini, Juliet Commagere, Juana Molina, Marlena Shaw. Jason’s best known for his previous shows on KCRW, the electronic/dance-leaning Afterhours and Metropolis, and that music is heard a bit on this show (Trentmoeller, Jazzanova, an Alan Braxe remix) and in the bumpers (Ulrich Schnauss, Gui Boratto, Bonobo).

To our ears the playlist still feels soft and conservative, but slightly more eclectic than the average Nick Harcourt playlist.

Once again a nobody is praised as some sort of "groundbreaking" prophet, ONLY because he plays a bunch of wussed out "indie" bullshit. Milquetoast, vanilla, dopey shit that only milquetoast, vanilla, dopey shits "enjoy" (I don't see how as it's all nothing more than music to go to sleep to)

Out of some 43 or so bands listed, I saw only six recognizable names, with Kate Bush being the one true talent out of all the excrement covered detritus listed, i.e. Coldplay.

But when you realize that it was the Thanksgiving Day weekend, which is a rock-solid lock guarantee to be a slow news cycle, I now understand why TDS ran this completely meaningless "story" - there wasn't anything else to print!!

I mean why else would TDS print a "story" concerning a list of absolutely no importance, played by a person that maybe five people total give a real shit about.

Coldplay...fucking pussy band. Eat my fuck Coldplay.

Fucking pussy "indie" bands.
