Kedar's Korus: From Neo-Soul to Neo-Merlot

TDS Editors

Kedar Massenburg, the former Motown Records CEO and self-proclaimed namer of “neo-soul” (he did sign D’Angelo and Erykah Badu), held a swank Rolls-Royce sponsored Manhattan soiree last night to introduce his latest project: Kedar’s Korus, a French wine line that’s for US (aka the African-American consumer and all Americans).

K’orus. For US. Complement your life. K’orus is a French wine made by an American company for all Americans. It was created to enhance people’s lives by empowering them to explore the world of wine. An integral part of the K’orus vision is to be inclusive and encourage anyone and everyone to learn about and enjoy wine.

K’orus is also the first wine to embrace African-Americans and their lifestyles in its marketing and advertising – previously, this demographic was overlooked by the wine industry. Founder Kedar Massenburg was introduced to wine three years ago and was inspired to demystify wine and encourage other African Americans to learn about it. Massenburg was also intrigued by the potential health benefits of drinking wine in moderation, especially since African-Americans have among the highest rates of heart disease and hypertension. Research has indicated that Resveratol, found naturally in the skin and seeds of grapes used to make wine, has heart-healthy benefits.

I'm glad I saw Kedar on a BET television program. Nice looking Brother! I don't drink or purchase wine(s) type of beverages but will start with a bottle made "For US" and hope it's pleasing. Continue the good works. Requesting many blessings! LNR

I was very impressed to see a young African
American stepping out and tackling a different
venue. I truly enjoy fine wines and look forward
to hearing more about you in the Metro Detroit area.

I am not an African African, but I've heard very positive things about this wine. Recently my girlfriend had an opportunity to taste Korus at a private party here in the LA area, she says it's very good (She isn't African American either). Anyway, I decided to look it up and order online. I look forward to tasting it personally! It seems this is a wine everyone can enjoy. Thanks! Chrissy M.

Oops, Correction to the first sentence of my previous post; It reads: "I am not African African" It should read: "I am not African American". Sorry, Thanks again!
