#1 The Cap'm says:

By that logic: when MTV execs refused to show black artists in the 80s they were ordinary klansmen.

#2 AKA says:

Mtv is following the path that labels laid. Obviously, they are out of touch with the young audiences. Trying to install fear and guilt instead of spending resources in finding a way to download and share legally.
too late for them though...
Aka

#3 J Kent says:

.... I can't find the words. "stupid", "ineffective", and "horribly executed" just don't seem to carry enough weight.

#4 mccain says:

who watches mtv anyway, except out of touch teens?

#5 mtv can fuck off says:

fucking ludicrous. fuck mtv for this.

#6 ozzie says:

how irrelevant is mtv aiming to be?

Reach for the skies my friends!

#7 JohnDoe says:

This can't be MTV US, right? Please God, tell me this is some international division.

#8 sarah says:

interesting that MTV are flying this flag considering they don't pay for music licensing. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black

#9 Me, That's Who... says:

What's the difference between listening to a crap band on your iPod or listening to the same crap band on your TV? Isn't MTV assisting in piracy by broadcasting songs into people's homes that didn't pay for the right to hear the music? Isn't that the entire RIAA's argument?

#10 Rev says:

MTV... ha! The crap they shovel can starve. Real music benefits from free online distribution and publicity. This ad glamorizes piracy anyway. Bad boy appeal, y'know? Although you'd think with all his mad stealing skillz he'd get a replacement for that quite whack CRT he has on his desk... and some sheets for chrisakes.

#11 Steven Patrick Morrissey says:

umm rev. no, it doesn't. how do you figure that? your argument is just as dumb as mtv's ad campaign.

#12 Hayseed in the Pickup says:

Son you got a panty on your head.

#13 james says:

thank god someone is standing up for artists.

#14 nothing says:

copyright infringement is not theft. they are two different crimes. just saying.

#15 Steve says:

This is the closest MTV has come to having anything to do with "music" in years. Funny shit.

#16 MT Who? says:

These clowns wouldn't know "music" if it kicked them in the head.

What a scam. They're probably getting kick backs from the lables.

jerks.

#17 ummm... says:
