New Idolator: What's Your 'Robbie' Music Compatibility? Your Favorite 'Becky' Sketch? Where did they find these people?

TDS Editors

UPDATE: Idolator 2.No Blind Item: What British Bandmember Bagged Buzznet’s Bartending Blogger Becky Bain?

Yesterday, The Daily Swarm introduced you to the first posts by Idolator’s new editors, Robbie and Becky. Its a tough job—abruptly taking over the spot from the site’s beloved founder and more recently sole blogger—made all the more difficult because Idolator’s loyal readers weren’t even given the courtesy of a formal introduction. So since Becky and Robbie can’t be bothered to let on exactly who they are, we’ll do it for them…

ROBBIE DAW

He’s 35, and British!

Robbie’s favorite tracks:

Here’s a sample of Robbie’s Top 40 Pop Songs of the 00s:

20. Keane – “Everybody’s Changing” (2004)

D’LUV Says: “For me, 2003 and 2004 held so many great ‘indie-pop’ discoveries—The Killers, Snow Patrol, Interpol and Keane. ‘Everybody’s Changing’ was a standout heartbreaker from the first listen.”

BECKY BAIN

Becky Bain grew up on Long Island and fortunately survived her stay there without acquiring an accent. While studying film at USC, she was a member and founder of two comedy troupes, musical improv team “Malignant Humor” and all-female improv “M.R.S. Degree”. Becky has a fondness for performing, singing and having two x chromosomes, so both teams suited her quite well. She produced and wrote for Broadcaster News, an online daily pop-culture comedy show that utilized bear costumes and eye patches and anything else she could find in the prop room. Becky also has her own monthly film column for INsite Boston magazine, even though she doesn’t reside in Boston… don’t tell anybody. She currently shares an assortment of sordid tales from her past (among other silliness) for Mad Atoms, and writes gossip for E! Online. Becky holds a treasure chest of celebrity secrets E!‘s legal team won’t let her reveal, not even to you, even if you’ll be her best friend. The only thing Becky enjoys more than withholding juicy information is writing, so it’s a good thing she’s on UCB Maude team “Hot Mess”. Besides Maude Night, she can also be seen performing in Dirtiest Sketch, Let’s Do This, CDR Sketch or just hanging around the UCB Theatre. Becky is happy to be involved in comedy until the fateful day Double Dare comes back on the air and she can win an all-expenses paid trip to space camp. Then it’s so long, suckas!

You can stay appraised of ‘Becky’s’ goings-on through her Facebook group: The Becky Bain Awesome Update Squad or on her Twitter account.

And while she hasn’t provided her new readers with an introduction, she did give her old (surely dedicated) following an ‘awful exit’ from the E! blog:

Ted and Taryn think I’ll miss waxing poetic about Twilight and Robsten the least, since my zest for this pretty pair has always been lukewarm.

It’s true, my taste for unattainable men is more the Adam Lambert variety than some sulky high school vampires, but I don’t hate Twilight.

I’ve seen a zillion Jennifer Aniston movies 10 times worse than Twilight. How’s that for a ringing endorsement of the franchise? At least it’s not Management!

And oh yeah, if you ask Becky out on a date, bring the Ecstasy and you’ll get some Becky-ass for sure!

I’ve been on two other first dates with two different guys who offered me ecstasy ten minutes into our date (both dates were at nightclubs, so at least the atmosphere was appropriate). One date ended with us having with really fantastic sex. The other guy I ended up dating for half a year and I was always worried about how many liberties I’d have to take if we had children and they asked how mommy and daddy met. “Well, Xander,” (yes, my imaginary son’s name is Xander) “It was a Friday night and Daddy offered Mommy MDMA before learning her last name. We tripped balls well into Sunday morning. It was so very romantic. The parts I can remember, anyway.”

Since those dates worked out successfully, I tried it yet again.
