TDS Editors

Matthew Chicoine aka DJ/musician/producer Recloose, the Detroit native and current Aukland, New Zealand resident, announced details this week of his recently completed fourth album, Perfect Timing, which is set for release on Loop Recordings later this month. Several new tracks, including a slow-burning collaboration with Fat Freddy’s Drop singer Joe Dukie, are now up on his MySpace page.
Kia Ora Crew! The wait is over, the new album hits stands in New Zealand Feb. 26 via Loop Recordings (www.loop.co.nz). Featuring a stellar cast of familiar faces (Joe Dukie, Justin Chapman, Genevieve Marentette, Jonathan Crayford!) and some newer recruits that will blow you out the water (Tyna, Rachel Frasier!). Future meets the past in this funk and soul filled musical love affair… check the player for sneak peeks of the tunes (including a remix from Mark de Clive-Lowe hot off the presses!).
Also be sure to check the ‘Perfect Timing’ release tour around Aotearoa in March/April. All the dates are now posted here on Myspace, so mark the calendar and make sure you get your glutious down to revel in the electronic soulfunk bidness!
Perfect Timing follows the Japan-only release of The Recloose Live Band- Backwards and Sideways, which was recorded at a pair of shows at Wellington’s San Francisco Bath House in 2006. In addition to a planned tour of New Zealand, Recloose has returned to the airwaves with a weekly radio show on GeorgeFM:
So, after a seven year hiatus from radio, Recloose finds his way back to the airwaves via George FM for his New Zealand broadcast debut. ‘HIT IT AND QUIT IT’ is a showcase of hand-selected gems collected over years of vinyl digging from across the musical universe- soul classics, jazz, go-go and hip-hop, disco, boogie, future funk, unreleased exclusives, and other global dancefloor business. Featuring national and international guests from the Recloose musical camp, occasional antics, and a big-ass library of music to inspire the lovers and the dancers alike.
European and US release dates and tour news is forthcoming.
