at least he admits to "paying his dues" by playing for ten people and them hating HIS music before mashing up other people's tunes.

rock and roll "experience" with laptops or actually rocking a laptop? if covering a laptop with saran wrap and playing other people's tunes is rock and roll so are lesbian DJs!!!

A few things to note...

He never actually says "Making music on a PC is the most punk rock thing you can do." That unfortunate misquote seems to only appear on the abstract.

He 100% does not use a Mac. I keep seeing people accusing him of that, and it's just not true.

As far as shilling for Microsoft...He uses a PC and Windows. They've clearly been quite useful for him and I imagine he is very fond of the software and OS that he uses. What's wrong with having pride in that or feeling compelled to participate in a campaign to promote it? I realize that there are Evil Empire implications with Microsoft, which are certainly problematic, but his all-inclusive perspective seems to jive perfectly with granting public approval of something he likes.

Two or three songs? Try 8-16 songs, depending on the track.

#15 Steve says:

I agree. I dig some Girl Talk, but as someone who's devoted thousands of hours to their instrument, I still feel you can't "play" a laptop. Not that programming a good beat is cake, but there's very little that's engaging about a laptop "set." Might as well direct-in an iPod or something.

#16 P.M. says:

That's so software as they say...
