Fuck You Jesse Dylan for whatever role you played in making this happen.

#2 Dane says:

Does that mean Jack Black is going to die at the hands of a speedball? Because if so, them I'm okay with this commercial.

#3 a says:

jesse dylan, of course, being the director of the william obama music video.

#4 Matt says:

Well, gee, that sucks.

#5 The Expert says:

What the fuck? Why would Dylan agree to do this?

Everything Will.I.am (real original) touches sounds like shit.

Bastards.

#6 the 60's says:

wow, the 60's ARE just as good as today..

and will.i.am IS the modern day bob dylan!

#7 Swedish says:

That is fucking horrible.

#8 kag61 says:

As a Dylan fan I am not offended by this commercial. Bob has allowed his music to be used in 4 or 5 commercials but the music was never interrupted. There was never any dialogue or products placed over the music and that seems to be the way he wants it. I am sure he gets paid well for something like this and the way our economy is going, money is a good thing to have right now. It's good for buying things like water, dehydrated food, and other survival gear to hold you ever when people discover that money is actually worthless.

#9 salo El Malo says:

I don't see why this upset people so much. Dylan broke away from all the rama-lama-ding-dong hippie crap like 40 years ago. He's been a cool rockstar ever since.

#10 waylon solos says:

...and cool rock stars like to get P-A-I-D.

#11 Dylan Fan says:

You guys are whack. Will.I.Am is a PERFECT voice to bring Dylan to the modern generation. He's got integrity and musical chops. I have loved Dylan since I was 12 years old. It's 40 years later, and I haven't lost touch either with Bob or with new music. Anyone that disapproves doesn't understand what Dylan was all about THEN, and is CLEARLY unplugged from the good music that's still available today. I would stand in line for a CD where artists of Will.I.Am's caliber bring Dylan's poetry to the audience of today. Dylan was and is a poet. The music is just a vehicle to him. With artists like Will.I.Am in the drivers seat, the message that Dylan has spent a lifetime carrying be carried even further.

#12 NO says:

As a longtime Bob Dylan fan I can only say that this is appalling. Yes, in troubled times, such as the current state of our economy, money is a necessity. However, can we be real? This is not Bob Dylan's problem. Why Bob Dylan, who has always been a little reluctant and skeptical of selling his music, would sell to PEPSI is beyond me. AND ALSO, Shrek is an ogre who makes sexual innuendos to an audience who can hardly understand them, while GUMBY is obviously a saint. If anything this commercial made me sad.

#13 steelers!!! says:

Wow, all these peace and love hippies can't stand a little musical change? ironic... I happen to listen to both Dylan and Will.i.am and everything in between them and around and way over in the next galaxy. Let's be honest, this is good music from two good artists. it has a positive message. the parallels between the two artists are many. And if you don't like rap because of bling and whatnot, it is almost certainly not because of will.i.am. what's not to love?

#14 djd says:

I knew this was a Pepsi commercial right from the jump. Comparing Will.i.am to Dylan? Pepsi couldn't have picked a worse combination.

#15 Markish says:

Neh, you're all just Coke drinkers.

#16 Scott says:

It's picture proof to how lame our culture has gotten.

#17 Evan says:

Will I Am is nothing like dyan this is catchy but dont compare the two because dylan is fucking god.

#18 chris munro says:

does anyone know what version of forever young that is i like the fast one better

#19 vera says:

So amazing and timely!
Speaking to all races, all cultures, all generations... I think its fantastic except i cant find it on i tunes!! i want it bad!

#20 the 60's says:

hell the 60's are better than today

#21 Rweave says:

instead of Will.I.Am. i would of used Common or Nas, but thats just me. i still think they did a great job. and people have opinions, and they should be able to voice them. but its pointless to sit here and try to convince people of whats good and whats not. everyone see's things differently. lets leave it at that.

#22 Kate says:

i love this version of the song!!

#23 Ally says:

I want to get that song in the Will.I.Am version does anyone know where i can get it

#24 Vicki says:

I don't know what all the upset is about. I absolutely love this commercial. As a baby boomer who grew up with Dylan, it's great to see an artist (Will.i.am) that I wasn't that familiar with in a way that I can relate to. It is a perfect melding of generations. That can't be a bad thing.

#25 louis says:

for some of us seeing bob dylan shilling for pepsi provides the final evidence that god is love and that He loves irony.

#26 Ricci says:

I believe Pepsi's main intent was to suggest that we STAY FOREVER YOUNG which is a GOOD thing. I can't understand how someone takes 'positive' and tries to make it 'negative'. I'm a 56 year old black female Dylan fan and until now I had only heard the name Wil.i.am. He looked good to me and of course Dylan was forever Dylan. I love this fast version of Forever Young and I think the comparison between then and now is awesome. I watch the commercial over and over.

#27 Frances says:

I'm a baby boomer who grew up with Dylan and pepsi and I think it's a wonderful positive commercial. I think a positive attitude is in dire need in this contry.

#28 dirk giggler says:

I love the comercial and the song. If that makes me a corporate patsy, so be it. I also love American Idol, and try to watch every major sporting event in hi-def. Oh well, that's the time we live in isn't it?

Anyway, I can't find this version anywhere on itunes (yeah, I'm a slave to that too) and was wondering if anyone had any luck downloading this.

#29 AJ says:

Well, Dylan is definitely not of my generation, and to be honest, I've never really been a huge fan. If he wanted to connect with a younger generation, then this was a good way to do it because it is more my speed. Like it or not, this was a good move. Before, I would have never even given Dylan a chance, but this has at least increased my interest. No disrespect meant to Dylan or his devotees.

#30 wow says:

Are you people who think this is wrong the same people who cried traitor or sell-out when bob dylan started playing the electric guitar? I don't know if it's just me but it seems kinda I guess ironic.

#31 olegare says:

Why are you people so negative? It must suck being forever stuck in the past, that's not the first old/new mix I've heard, but certainly one of the best. I turn up the surround sound every time I hear it.

#32 Kate says:

I cannot BELIEVE people getting their panties all wadded up by decisions made by Bob Dylan. If there was ever an artist who has followed his own muse it's Bob. If this was to help his oldest son, it's a pretty noble reason. As we who love our children know, there is not much we wouldn't do for them.

As usual, I'm sure he's paying you no mind.

#33 ts says:

44 yr old white lady--never been a big Dylan fan, can't stand the Black Eyed Peas. LOVE THIS SONG.

#34 Jamo says:

Lighten up. Sounds like all of you old looser hippies are under a lot of pressure these days. Go get a job, pay some taxes and chill. You parademic traditionalists are a dying breed. This is the best Dillan has done in years.

#35 SPINYMAN says:

As a 61 yr old exhippie who loved Dylan, let me just say, thank god for Wil for bringing the man into the present.I'll never buy Pepsi but I love this song.

#36 paulr says:

Painful to see Bob Dylan shill for aspartame cancer with the pretentious message of "stay forever young" (and stupid)

#37 Do says:

Jesus jumped up Christ on a fucking pony, I haven't heard such wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth since since McCartney (over rated) sold his crap to MJ. I'm a boomer (1962; tail end) and I could not be more tired of my generation. Boomers are the most self- rightous, absorbed, consumed, aware, important, the list goes on -generation the world has ever seen. The whole "we changed the world, just don't change ours" is just a differnt way of saying the tired old ideology of, "I'm a non-conformist and so are all of my friends"; the mantra of the boomers. This generation was and is 90% crap; get off my side. I loved this song, and sought out it's source. I'm just sorry it's not longer.

#38 Fiona says:

Interesting commercial - Fuse is doing a poll to see which people like better: http://tr.im/BOBWILL

#39 Caleb says:

No need to get offended. This song is catchy and fun, but Dylan could never be compared to Will to matter what time period we are in.

#40 GOB says:

good

#41 Jake Hagerty says:

Awesome songg. I love the meaning

#42 james says:

Will.i.am sucks and he shouldent be even compared to bob dylan and will.i.am does definitly not stand for this generation at all.

#43 d says:

the faster version is also on the album Planet Waves right after the slower one. (the slow version is at the end of side 1, and the fast version is the first song on side 2 if you've got vinyl)

#44 Nelson Valosen says:

FUCK all you NARROW MINDED music lovers. In the 70's the "ROLLING STONES" made their claim to fame with albums containing their versions of...OLD...BLUE GRASS, COUNTRY and BLUES songs from the past. THAT "Forever young" Pepsi Commercial changed the opinion of Rap music with many music lovers. Will.i.am missed a golden opportunity to have HIS NAME on the rack of millions of anti-Rap music lovers, with 'THAT' song. I am a 57 year old, WHITE, PINK FLOYD FAN, but I love the BLUE GRASS version of "BRAIN DAMAGE/ECLIPSE" recorded by the "AUSTIN LOUNGE LIZARDS". Will.i.am: I hope you see this posting and release a full length version, even if it's just a single. It WILL sell to us Honkies, that can't dance or jump. This is my real name and I'm on Facebook. I would welcome the comments, from all you NARROW MINDED FUCKheads, for the world to see!

#45 oldskool says:

It's annoying! I hate it! but then again, it's a friggin' Pepsi commercial. Aren't they SUPPOSED to be annoying??? Besides, it isn't quite as bad as that commercial where the guy is singing I THINK WER'RE ALONE NOW!!! Like all commercials, this too, will pass. The sooner, the better!
