After an hour of Techno House at the hands of DJ Carl Cox, on the back of the rostrum A La Rinconada a firefight that lasted only a few moments left four people dead in the middle of the track, two of them on the left side near the bar and three more on the right side. VJ Rei:

I was doing my last concert by requiest of one of the promoters last night. I was retairing because I was seek of so many idiots driving production companies, people without education. The owners of the productions companies start tu cut corners and hire people without experience.

Last night, 15 meter from me when Carl Cox started his show and 10 minutes into it some one started to shot every one. I sounded like firecrackers, so fast I didn’t think was a gun. Everybody started to run like crazy.

I was in the main, doing my visuals and filming the show. I just grabbed the camera and started to film everything what was going on.

3 dead body’s on the floor, a young guy, a woman and a man. The husband of the woman was shot as well in the leg. Several others people as well but they managed to run.

Mute, my VJ was infront of the shooter, his girlfriend saw the guy with the gun and gave a warning. Mute, saw the guy starting to shoot, stoped and keep shooting and then the shooter realized what he just did and ran.

The party was going so well.

I knew the sponsor, I knew the promoters. The sponsor was Marlboro and was a good guy. The promoters too but no one of security was checking for weapons or anything.

UPDATE: Martin Valero blog [comment]:

It’s true. Last night I was on the terrace at the club and at 1:30 this fucker fired his gun. I didn’t think they were gunshots as previously they had fired off some fireworks and I thought it was the same. Suddenly people started to run and when I turned around I saw some bodies on the floor. When we got closer it was really sad to see those people in agony and a girl bathed in blood with her husband on the floor next to another guy. Another woman saw and started to cry ‘that’s my brother.’ Altogether, it was 4 dead and 3 wounded and I left. It’s sad that if at this type of event these things keep happening with such bad and insufficient security that it’s not the first time, it will not be the last at the fault of some assholes who didn’t know how to control what kind of jerks get in. That just by looking at them or finding them by mistake, just that is the spark that causes the explosion and the worst is that innocent people die just for being in the line of fire.

UPDATE: Carl Cox issues statement:

I am deeply shocked and still stunned by the events of this Saturday [3rd November]. My condolences go out to victims that were caught up in this horrific act that took place at this gig. I am informed that it was gang related and feel so sad that anybody would act in such a manner when the event was full of 7000 people having fun! I will try my best to continue on the tour across South America however deeply shocked and shaken I am.

#6 VJ REI says:

I was given the link to this web site. In a country where the same president therats other countries this was a matter of time. Venezuela has become the bridge for narcotraffic to europe thanx to Chavez. The police won't do anything about this, no son or daughter of any minister was injured, so why bother?

This is another link in spanish from the press.

My condolences to the family and friends of the victims.

#11 Rizla says:

Fucking gang people. Think they are so tuff. "ooh we need guns to be cool. If we don't have them we don't manage everything".

The synonym for gang should be "chicken shit pussies who don't dare to do shit alone or without weapons".

#12 dj invisible friend says:

this is disgusting ---

it started getting gang related in parts of us but no machine guns ! that was like 8 years ago and now it is not much of a scene anymore !

dam -- im glad no one else got injured but so saddened for the losses !

#13 trippyhippy says:

its a sad day when an event that is suppose to be about peace love unity and respect is shattered by a thing such as a shooting. i have never heard of such a sad day in electronic music. my prays go out to those who lost there loved ones and for the person who will have this on the mind til they leave this earth their self. where they will be dealt with by the hands of god.

#14 Jools says:

DJ 2 - You speak like you knew much of the place. Why don't you get some information before making your clever remark. Education really makes people sound less moronic and bigotted when they speak of things they're unfamiliar with.

There's a reason why these events still take place, unlike in the US where people have to go mess it all up by acting like they're in a country with no coke regulation. Such is not the case, but THE RAVE ACT is not fictitious.

This is rare, and tragic. But educate yourself, so you're not offensive to those who have something to do with the place or the event.

#15 CJ says:

WELL SAID RIZLA, YOU SUMMED UP MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY. THESE PEOPLE ARE CUNTS OF THE HIGHEST ORDER!

#18 Splinter says:

Pero sigan dejando que entren esos macacos monos, NO LOS DEJEN PASAR POR FAVOR QUE ELLOS SON LOS PRECURSORES DE ESTOS LIOS TAN HORRIBLES QUE VEMOS HOY EN DIA, "NO LOS DEJEN ENTRAR" TAL VEZ SONARA RACISTA PERO DIGANME USTEDES SI VALE LA PENA DEJAR ENTRAR ALGUIEN QUE COMETE ESTOS ACTOS TAN COCHINOS... CHAO LOS DEJOS SALUDOS A TODOS Y TODAS, CONCIENCIA Y CULTURA ES LO QUE FALTA EN LAS CABEZAS HOY EN DIA!!

#23 Maria says:

#24 dj storm says:

There is NO PLACE in music for violence. There is never a time to hurt or kill. These "gang" backed incidents are not new, but rather, they enter a new arena to put thier point across. Its a pathetic thing for some low life that has no desire to go anywhere, to go and destroy anothers life. I personally think that public execution of these IDIOTS is well within reason. You do the crime, an eye for an eye.
Music is Life.

STOP THE VIOLENCE
FACE THE MUSIC

#34 TMT007 says:

As I watched this video, I couldn't believe that somebody would be so careless, reckless, and above all; so stupid as to bring a firearm into a techno\house music concert and then only show a higher level of stupidity by firing multiple shots with so many people around that are not only innocent but also able to identify you as the gunman. I have been to some really shady parties before, similarly with a few thugs showing up to the party who were obviously not there to dance but most likely to deliver, score, or sell drugs. Tho, fortunately there weren't any rivals who showed up or were already there so no fighting broke out; but still had a damper on the party vibe. Now this kind of tragedy that occurred at the Carl Cox show is all too common at rap and hiphop clubs all across the world and especially in the U.S., but having people getting killed at techno parties like this is so uncommon and if there are deaths it's usually due to drug overdoses. But multiple deaths at a dance club is just wrong, sadly it makes you look at "blood on the dancefloor" in a different way. And while I'd like to think that the people who were shot and the ones who were killed, were other dumb gangbangers who were packin' heat too, sadly though - this just isn't the reality of those who died from gunshot wounds that night. And while it is truly sad that 4 people died, they are the lucky ones because they got to move on; it's the families of the victims and the witnesses who experienced it upclose and personal; who will be affected from it for the rest of their lives! Definitely not what I'd consider a disco heaven!!!! -tmt-

It's those kinds of Animals who ruin it for the rest of us!!!

For God's sake... if you have a beef with someone.. take it outside and settle it the old fashioned way... "fists of fury".

That way innocent people having a good time, don't get caught in the crossfire!!
