The documentary was directed by Adam Bhala Lough, who is no stranger to documenting musicians on film. He previously directed “The Upsetter: The Life and Times of Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry.” The documentary took a look at the legendary reggae producer and his enormous contributions to the genre and to music in general.

“The Carter” is said to take “an in-depth, intimate look at the artist Dwayne ‘Lil Wayne’ Carter Jr., proclaimed by many as the ‘greatest rapper alive.’ ”
